Many project manager positions will be in conjunction with sales and trading jobs. You should be literate in business and know how trading within a business setting works. Most entry level jobs will require some type of business or technology degree. Major trading positions will usually not hire entry level positions and want a minimum of 5 years experience.
The most important skill you can master for this job would be communication. It is impossible to make a successful trade or finish a project without communicating. It is important to not only have these qualities but being able to teach them and find them in other people is just as important. Many positions will allow you to pick your management team and being able to recognize and help bring out leadership and good working habits is crucial. If your project team fails or the project itself it is your responsibility and the team will be looking to you for a solution.
Your salary will be dependent on your skill level and your experience. It also hinges on your quality of work and production. The highest pay grade you can receive is in the position of a project manager in software development that starts at $83,453. The lowest pay grade you’ll receive is probably around $60,000. These salaries are all affected by your work ethic, productivity and success. It is always appropriate to negotiate a higher pay grade especially if you have a lot of experience and know that you can fulfill the position ideally. Companies don’t like looking for employees they earn more money when a position is filled and if you have an impressive resume that they could use they are going to want to make sure you are part of their company.
