Pasadena, CA — EmploymentCrossing, one of the world's largest job boards in the US, has launched TradingCrossing (www.tradingcrossing.com), a new site that caters to the job-search needs of thousands of trade job seekers. As part of the EmploymentCrossing job-site family, TradingCrossing seeks to list every job for traders in the United States in one convenient location. Using proprietary technology, TradingCrossing monitors job postings for traders on other job websites and from other sources to display every job for traders that it can find.
''TradingCrossing's goal is nothing less than to show trade job seekers every job available,'' says Harrison Barnes, founder and CEO of TradingCrossing.
''The recent economic and financial turmoil has cast a gloom on thousands of traders as trading has received a severe jolt. Trading professionals are now increasingly concerned about how the economy is going to affect their futures. The threat of unemployment has made more and more traders hunt for other avenues as they are not able withstand the pressures of the current market,'' says Barnes.
Recently, the debacle of Lehmann Brothers and the takeover of Merrill Lynch by the Bank of America have evoked a fog of uncertainty in the minds of many investors and entrepreneurs over the future of the market. Merrill slashed more than 500 trading jobs too. Even TMX, the Canadian Stock Exchange Operator, cut about 10% of its workforce in the light of consolidation of its offices. The largest US Bank, JP Morgan Chase & Co. is also shutting its global proprietary trading business and reassigning its top traders among other divisions. This shows that even the largest trading institutions are not spared from the recession, which has acquired gigantic fall in the trading numbers, never witnessed since the Great Depression of 1929, sources suggest.
The overall job market is suffering, and traders are becoming more worried about their jobs. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics report also predicts a bleak future for traders with a projected growth of about 7% over the 2006-2016 decade. But the report also says that the growth will vary depending on the products and sectors of the economy with which individual trade firms are involved. ''Pharmaceutical and medical trading firms are expected to employ more trading professionals than in other sectors'' says Barnes.
The CEO of TradingCrossing adds, ''Mostly, it is where traders look for jobs that matters a lot. TradingCrossing is the solution to all their problems. The site aims to list all types of trading jobs, as well as to provide details on career advancement opportunities and employment information related to a variety of industries,'' adds Barnes.
TradingCrossing was launched to help traders sort out the opportunities that they might not find out about otherwise. Unlike other job boards, the site focuses solely on trade jobs, and it doesn't charge employers to post jobs.
''There is an astonishing number of trade job openings out there. We want to find them all,'' Barnes says.
TradingCrossing charges $29.95 a month to view its job-opening research. The trading job board also offers a free, seven-day trial to allow trade job seekers to familiarize themselves with the service.
TradingCrossing is an affiliate of EmploymentCrossing, a powerful and comprehensive organization dedicated to helping professionals find jobs that will enhance their careers. TradingCrossing consolidates every trade job opening it can find in one convenient location. The website also offers a seven-day free trial to new members.
