Capital Group is currently seeking a Fixed-Income Trading Analyst who will be responsible for various desk-related and research activities in support of fixed income trading. Capital Group has been managing fixed-income strategies since 1973, and has over $320bn in fixed income assets under management.
As a Fixed Income Trading Analyst, you will be working under direction only as needed, to book and reconcile trades. In addition, you will directly coordinate and communicate market research and information among the Investment Group, Trading, and Investment Operations teams. Execute trades under the supervision of senior traders and support trading activities and works with traders on desk-related projects and administrative tasks.
Support Fixed Income traders with various trading and desk-related activities.
Organize and book trades by verifying final price and broker information.
Ensure timely recording of trading activity to meet regulatory requirements.
Calculate trade allocations and ratios, submit requests for orders and books trades.
Inform investment analysts and portfolio managers of the pricing of new and secondary issues.
Assist with obtaining prospectuses and Trustee Reports for private placements.
Liaise with various teams including the Reference Data team and FIPAG to ensure accurate set-up of new bonds into appropriate systems.
Work with the syndicate desks to track and monitor broker concessions for all new issues to support the annual broker review process.
Research and make adjustments to trade financials based on internal processing requirements as needed (e.g., index linked bonds and accrued interest).
Review currency decisions, manual trade adjustments, derivatives, and other manual processes.
Manage and maintain SSI’s (standing settlement instructions) in the OMS and makes periodic updates as necessary.
Perform Trading Cost Analysis (TCA) for client requests, market activity, or other ad hoc requests.
Stay abreast of related market activity. Gathers up to date information from traders, investment analysts, portfolio managers, and external brokers.
Identify and share investment information with traders, investment analysts and portfolio managers. Analyzes market flows and builds tools to monitor and analyze trading activity.
Keep abreast of upcoming and possible regulatory changes affecting market structure and trading practices, and highlights impacts.
Develop internal and external relationships with traders to maintain detailed knowledge of the Fixed Income trading industry and practices.
Represent the assigned desk at committee or project meetings as needed.
Serve as a liaison between Investment Operations and the investment professionals (traders, portfolio managers, investment analysts, and brokers).
Works on and may lead special projects as needed to support Capital’s Fixed Income trading efforts.
3 years experience in financial services.
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity.

Ability to prioritize assigned work and complete in a timely manner.

Strong interest in financial markets and Fixed Income.
Strong Excel skills and Bloomberg knowledge.
