Functions and Responsibilities
Monitor interest rate market movement and execute MBS trades to hedge company’s interest rate risk.
Utilizing mortgage backed security knowledge to analyze best execution models on loan sales
Making independent decisions to the timing of commitments including individual loan best-effort, bulk mandatory, and the use of MBS futures contracts.
Responsible for analyzing the risk management reports to create a daily trading strategy.
Statistical tracking of lock fall-out percentages
Rely on technical knowledge of product descriptions, characteristics and guidelines to input and maintain lending and secondary systems with sensitive data regarding all loan and security sales
Creative solutions to secondary marketing issues based on knowledge of mortgage industry as well as relocation practices & policies
Work with current investors on loan level issues
Special projects as assigned
Monitoring the completion of Daily, Weekly and Monthly reporting for senior management
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
5 plus year experience in mortgage loan sales and pipeline hedging
Creative solutions to risk management issues based on knowledge of mortgage industry
The ability to discern the impact of the economy and the economic news has on mortgage markets and rates
A strong ability to analyze, forecast and discern statistical information
Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
Experience managing multiple projects and an ability to multi-task and delegate successfully
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize quickly
Flexibility to multi-task and adapt to change
A self-management style that does not require hands-on management supervision
An exceptional aptitude with Microsoft Excel and Word programs
Education and Certification Requirements
Working knowledge of secondary marketing/pipeline management systems and Lending systems
Undergraduate degree is required, accounting or finance coursework is desired
