Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist with oversight of all externally managed global public equity assets for the Defined Benefit Plan, the Defined Contribution Plan, VEBA Partnership N LP, Verizon Foundation and Captive Insurance. This includes providing support to the Director with all areas of portfolio due diligence including: participate in portfolio review meetings, complete portfolio performance reviews & analysis, monitor investment guidelines and compliance.
Assist with recommendations to enhance to the portfolio.
This includes the hiring and terminating of external investment managers.
Create and maintain a list of potential investment managers that would compliment the portfolio.
Satisfy all compliance and operational functions required of the global public equity portfolios.
Monitor satisfactory completion of industry and VIMCO compliance requirements.
Maintain completed quarterly investment manager compliance reports.
Review investment guideline exception reports and communicate results to Chief Compliance Officer.
Assist with cash raising programs.
Participate in quarterly valuation meetings which includes - monitoring & researching public equity securities that appear on the report, reporting & making recommendations to the Committee.
Prepare executive reporting packages including monthly CFO presentation, quarterly VIMCO Board presentation and semi-annual Verizon Board of Directors presentations. Provide backup analysis and explanations.
What we’re looking for...
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience with a strong project management background.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with proven focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
Strong knowledge of investment instruments, systems and valuation processes.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
Good communication skills: written, verbal and presentations.
Advance computer skills: spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, database management.
Strong relationships and ability to leverage relationships with external suppliers and managers.
Adapt to changing priorities: project and time management skills.
Strong team and result oriented skills.
