We are currently seeking an outstanding Senior Import/Export Manager at our Corporate Headquarters in Vista, CA.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

Manages activities related to one or more import/export operations worldwide. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; providing expertise in phases of the supply chain and international logistics, advising functional groups and leaders of customs and export regulations, mitigation risks associated with import/export operations worldwide.

The position will oversee trade activity, spearhead global compliance projects and initiatives with high visibility, and strengthen the execution of the trade compliance program. The position will work with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to determine import and export compliance worldwide and help to instill a high-level of Trade compliance across the global organization. Understanding of US Customs, WTO, OFAC, DoC, FDA, Census and Free trade agreement rules and regulations, HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, and OFAC licensing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage U.S. Import and export issues; work with in-country staff to create process improvements and ensure compliance with country-specific regulations.

• Drive efficiencies in operations and spearhead the development of the trade compliance program.

• Lead compliance reviews and work closely with local customs authorities.

• Maintain oversight over required import and export documentation in accordance with local laws and corporate policy.

• Pursue IT automation efforts related to compliance.

• Develop, publish and maintain key performance indicators relating to Trade Compliance activities for the regional functional area of responsibility.

• Monitor these metrics to ensure customer service level agreement standards are met and use these metrics to identify process improvements. Take corrective action where necessary.

• Develop, implement and keep current standard operating procedures and standard work instructions to support functional area of responsibility.

• Monitor/audit and ensure adherence to policies, procedures and desk-level instructions relating to compliant international transactions within the functional area or responsibility.

• Work with the company's SBU’s to ensure that their functional area operations and processes comply with the relevant trade laws and regulations.

• May manage a small to medium sub-team of import-export staff.

Requirements:

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Extensive experience in trade compliance and/or international logistics / operations.

• Strong project management and computer skills are required.

• The ability to function both as a team and individual player with the ability to shift priorities as required by the global trade compliance team and business operations.

• Proven ability to identify costs optimization and duty reduction opportunities in customs and trade transactions.

• Proven ability to develop, implement and maintain standard work and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Proven ability to define performance metrics and evaluate internal and external service providers.

• Demonstrated skills in resolving complex business challenges

• Strong analytical skills, detailed oriented, and possess the ability to anticipate problems and diffuse situations.

• The ability to multi-task and ability to work under time constraints and business priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Extensive experience in trade compliance and/or international logistics / operations arena. Minimum of 10 years’ experience.

• 3-5 Years Of People Management Experience Preferred

• Subject Matter expertise in relevant areas of trade compliance (regional trade agreements, classification, valuation, authorizations [export and import], country of origin, etc.) is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Customs Broker license

• Working knowledge of Oracle

• Previous experience in the Medical industry

• Previous experience implementing global trade management systems and software

• Advanced Microsoft Excel
