This position is for an experienced international trade compliance professional, with an in-depth understanding of USG export/import laws, regulations, and compliance requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Regulations. As a member of the Lockheed Martin Corporate International Trade Compliance Office, serves within the Corporate Legal Department of the Lockheed Martin corporate headquarters organization. Requires an articulate, detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in groups, including with remote clients, and to prioritize and manage projects as assigned with some manager direction, oversight, and guidance. Duties include serving as a backup to others in a cooperative teamwork environment. Competitive candidates will be experienced career professionals with at least 10 years professional experience, and at least 4 years international trade experience with extensive understanding of USG export laws, regulations and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be able to compile, draft, and publish communications with attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines; chair/co-chair and develop agenda for collaborative groups and track action items; represent organization to senior management and outside entities; respond in professional and timely manner to USG inquiries; resolve customs and transactional matters; plan and execute training events and develop related resources; serve as ACE Proxy Account Owner; interface with USG contacts; review freight forwarder/broker activity for compliance; maintain and draft powers of attorney; assist with customs bond issuance/riders/renewals. May provide training on the U.S. export and/or import laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Assists and supports the Deputy Director, Compliance, as required, to implement the Corporation's international trade compliance program.
Experienced export/import compliance professional; In-depth knowledge and understanding of U.S. export/import regulations and related compliance requirements. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary to be successful. Ability to multi-task and work without appreciable direction or supervision to meet time-sensitive and complex compliance objectives. Must be able to effectively interface with all levels of employees, from corporate executives to junior level staff. Competent IT user skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to serve management team and others and take on time-sensitive projects with precision and attention to detail and deadlines.
Familiarity with the Automated Export System (AES) and related electronic export information filings, the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and ACE reports, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and ITAR registration, Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and EAR annual/semi-annual reports, Foreign Trade Regulations, customs regulations, supply chain security, global supply chain, U.S. Government (USG) offices/departments regulating exports and imports, customs processes/entries, Importer Self-Assessment, Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, customs rulings, customs forms CF-28/CF-29, temporary importation under bond process, customs surety bonds, conference planning/execution, freight forwarder/broker services/processes, Microsoft SharePoint, export/import transactional requirements.
