DescriptionThe Private Equity Banking Group (“PEBG”) Relationship Manager is the central contact person for credit and banking product/services for Private Equity Fund clients; he/she quarterbacks the delivery and maintenance of diverse bank products and services through cross-sell partners and acts as a trusted advisor to our client’s executive management team. The trusted advisor role revolves around relationship building, idea generation, strategic business discussions, risk management, credit structuring, industry observations, and other matters of elevated importance.  This is a very high-touch client coverage position, where one of the differentiators is excellent client service for a very demanding clientele.The PEBG RM will also have responsibilities with the Private Equity CFO Association (PECFOA).  The role could require engaged management of a Chapter or Chapters, as well as guidance and direction for the respective boards and scheduling, coordinating and seeing to the satisfactory execution of such.The PEBG Relationship Manager will focus on Private Equity / Venture / Infrastructure / Debt / Secondary fund managers and management companies with Assets Under Management generally between $250MM and $5BN; this position will typically be responsible for managing at least 20 credit and non-credit relationships with loan commitments from $200MM-$400MM and deposits of $200MM to $300MM, and generating high ROEC revenue.• Manage a portfolio of credit and non-credit relationships of varying size and complexity• Responsible for active market coverage of prospective clients• Drive new client acquisition, generating new revenue (margin and fee), and raising market awareness for the Bank• Have knowledge of all appropriate products and services offered by the Bank• Holds primary responsibility for the client relationship, including important credit matters, though he/she will work closely with the Portfolio Manager to ensure efficient and sound loan underwriting, portfolio performance, maintenance, and asset quality• Interact with the client in order to discuss and resolve risk related issues, and will help develop strategies and actions to resolve any issues that could increase risk or create losses for the Bank• Exhibit skill at negotiation techniques, be able to develop loan structuring options, review and understand legal documentation, and demonstrate skill in the area of large exposure and complex credit management• Highly experienced in credit matters, able to read, interpret, and understand credit issues quickly, and capable of commanding a large, complex portfolio• Utilize the resources of the Portfolio Management team effectively to stay engaged in driving new business and serving client needs• Actively coordinates with cross sell partners to help facilitate the sale of additional Bank products• Actively organizes and manages/leads Bank meetings with clients and appropriate internal partners and team membersQualifications•  10 years of relevant experience• Undergraduate degree in Business administration, finance, accounting and/or economics preferred but not required• Graduate degree preferred• Exhibits a history of competency in soliciting, developing, servicing, and structuring a wide range of commercial loans, including complex transactions• Able to handle the most difficult and sensitive client relationships• Capable of handling difficult negotiations, including in the area of loan documentation• Independent thinker and self-starter• Excellent credit skills• Cross-selling and product knowledge/application• Able to make recommendations and develop a rationale view at the highest level of loan hold position• Able to quickly structure credit in modeling environment• Exhibits competency at independently reaching conclusions and forms clear view of credit structure and business risk to Bank• Has deep understanding of industry nuances applicable to the credits contained within assigned portfolio• Displays deep understanding of capital structures, with clear knowledge of the differences between senior and other layers of debt• In-depth knowledge of loan and related legal documents• Stays abreast of changes in Bank products and services, is capable of identifying appropriate client product fit, and is able, at a high level, to present each product to a client or prospect• Highly developed communication skills; and ability to influence others by persuasively presenting thoughts and ideas to gain commitment and agreement for proposed ideas and solutions• Enthusiastic, resilient, energetic and team orientedHours & Work ScheduleHours per Week:   40Work Schedule:    Monday-Friday Why Work with UsAt Citizens, you’ll find a customer-centric culture built around helping our customers and giving back to our local communities.
