Marketing, Midstream and Processing (MMP) shall maximise corporate value creation in Equinorâ€™s mid- and downstream business through safe, reliable and efficient operations. We are responsible for capturing the full value potential of all marketed and traded products such as crude oil, liquids and natural gas.
MMP Marketing and Trading North America (MMP MT NA) is responsible for marketing and trading of Equinorâ€™s equity production in North America and are represented in Stamford, Houston and Calgary. This includes:
â€¢ Flow assurance and value creation around Equinorâ€™s North American equity portfolio, commercial optimization of positions including infrastructure positions
â€¢ 3rd party trading of physical commodities, and trading of relevant derivatives
â€¢ Supply of naphtha and natural gasoline to Equinorâ€™s Southern Lights transportation asset
â€¢ Safe, reliable and efficient operations
â€¢ Originating trading opportunities and managing MT NA TLLâ€™s marketing portfolio
â€¢ MMP MT NA is organized in the following units: Trading Gas, Trading Crude, Trading LPG and Light Ends, Operations Gas, Operations Liquids, and NA Origination
The LPG & Light Ends Trader is part of a team responsible for equity and 3rd party NGL and Light Ends trading in the North American market. The purpose of the position is to support the trading manager in building a sustainable and profitable trading activity in North America, to develop asset backed trading strategies, initiate and grow business development initiatives, build and maintain external relationships, contribute to the growth and profitability of the overall global MT PRL trading activity, and support the trading manager in leading and developing local traders.
Overall Equity NGL and Light Ends marketing and P&L responsibility:
Secure flow assurance and outlets for Gas Liquids and Light Ends production
Collaborate with Operations, Origination, Asset Management and other stakeholders
3rd party trading of physical Gas Liquids and Light Ends and derivatives
Develop and implement trading strategies, plan and lead negotiations
Optimize value and utilization of assets (pipeline, rail, barge, storage positions, etc.)
Timely and accurate deal entry of all deals into trade capture systems
Responsibility for P&L reporting and explanation;
Collaborate with the other LPG and Light Ends traders to form a trading and marketing team responsible for managing price risk and overall VAR, and contribute to the profitability of the desk.
Provide coverage for other traders on the team
Gather market information through frequent communications with external counterparties and openly share and discuss with other Equinor traders and trade analysts
Grow Asset Backed Trading: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen our business, identify new opportunities and create innovative solutions (participate and lead project teams and business development initiatives, especially as it pertains to LPG/NGLS in the Americas)
Safe, reliable and efficient operations of marketing, shipping and trading activities.
The onshore LPG & Light Ends responsibilities include:
Planning and Execution of C5 physical and paper trading, and development of onshore supply chains and asset backed trading strategies in line with business goals and A2A (e.g. Southern Lights supply chain).
Back up for other NA TLL traders including equity trading, execution for C2, C3, C4 Mont Belvieu trades
Close cooperation with global waterborne Light Ends traders in Stamford and Stavanger
Bachelor of Science, Master degree preferred. Relevant business experience and personal qualifications can make up for lack of formal education.
Minimum 3 years relevant trading and/or origination experience
Demonstrated solid performance record and successful ding results over time;
Commercial and innovative attitude with in depth knowledge of price exposure, risk profile, risk/reward balance, trading instruments, experience from commercial negotiations;
Good understanding of oil/NGL qualities, market fundamentals, relevant HSE related issues, and logistics (storage, transportation, etc.);
Ability to establish trading and marketing contacts in the industry through networking, preferably with an existing network in place
Ability to live by I am safety expectations
Team player with high standards and business ethics;
Strong commercial skills and analytical abilities with a practical orientation and attention to details
Hands on with an ability to work in a rapidly changing environment that demands quick decisions or long hours to be put in to solve specific commercial or operational problems;
Customer focused, pro-active and results oriented with appropriate risk appetite;
Well organized, able to meet deadlines and follow through on tasks to completion;
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and proactive information gathering/sharing;
Willing to travel and open to future relocation possibilities.
