The Institutional Securities Technology division (IST) develops and oversees the technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional business and enterprise-wide functions. With a global footprint of around 4,000 resources, sourcing and managing our talent pool whilst responding the business demand is a complex and dynamic challenge.
We are looking for a developer manager to lead a small team of four developers in NY working on Morgan Stanley's proprietary equity risk system, called RiskViewer. The ideal candidate combines a proven track record of delivery with a deep domain expertise and a passion for coaching and developing people.
The RiskViewer system provides real time risk and P&L data for traders and risk managers across the firm's equity derivatives franchise. It supports the full range of equity products from vanilla options through to exotics and swaps. In addition to equities, the platform also supports additional asset classes such as FX, rates and credit.
The system is comprised of a C# GUI, a distributed architecture of multi-threaded server-side components written in Java and C , and a large compute plant for calculation of risk and pricing data. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of at least one of these languages and an interest in developing across all of them. The platform also provides valuation services to a variety of trading engines, quoting/market making systems and pricing tools used by trading and sales. The NY software team is a crucial component serving the key North American market within an excellent global development team with other development centres in Montreal, London, Budapest and Hong Kong.
