The Senior Analyst, Customs & Trade Compliance (CTC) will ensure compliance with Customs, FDA, USDA and other applicable government agency requirements by adhering to and promoting the Teva USA Customs/OGA Compliance Program, performing product compliance reviews, updating our Compliance manual, conducting internal audits, annual Reconciliation submissions, leading process improvement, educating internal/external stakeholders and associated responsibilities.
This role requires a highly-motivated, detail-oriented, experienced Customs & Trade Compliance professional with extensive Customs and other government agency expertise as well as the ability to comprehend complicated compliance issues and translate to ensure non-CTC stakeholder understanding.
The Senior Analyst must excel at conducting meticulous, accurate and high-quality research, mastering complex situations and intricate compliance issues, monitoring regulatory changes, as well as understanding and communicating the impact to internal/external stakeholders. The ability to function in a high-paced and challenging environment is critical.
In addition, the Senior Analyst will assume full responsibility and accountability for our Internal Audit and Reconciliation programs. This includes, but is not limited to: developing and implementing workplans, providing guidance on the revision of existing processes, developing new processes and deploying resources. Further, setting goals, measuring and reporting on progress. Providing extensive training to internal and external team members and associated stakeholders.
Limited domestic and international travel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assume full responsibility and accountability for the following programs: Internal Audit
Assist with CTC Compliance Manual and associated SOP/work instructions review, recommend and implement revisions and process improvements
Perform meticulous Compliance reviews of each imported item to ensure full Customs and OGA Compliance, including but not limited to: Free Trade Agreements, valuation, classification, import permits and so forth
Manage the internal audit program: monitor compliance, detect and resolve errors, determine root cause and corrective action and provide on-going training to internal and external stakeholders
Support the integration of multiple acquisitions into our centralized Compliance Program
Assist with review and transition to our upgraded electronic Customs and OGA Product Library
Administer the annual Customs Reconciliation program
Monitor, research and respond to information requests: Customs, FDA, USDA, OGA, broker & stakeholders
Provide subject matter expert support and training: Commercial, Procurement, R&D, Clinical Supply et al
Follow Teva Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures
Other projects and duties as required/assigned
Education: Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: Required: 10 years’ experience working with Customs and other agencies
Preferred: 12 years’ experience working with Customs, FDA and other agencies
Specialized or Technical Knowledge licenses, Certifications needed: Licensed Customs Broker: Required prior to employment at Teva
NCBFAA CCS: May obtain CCS after starting at Teva
Must maintain CCS while employed at Teva (annual credits)
Company / Industry Related knowledge: Experience working in a government regulated environment preferred
Pharmaceutical experience preferred
FTA experience, particularly qualifying products/materials for NAFTA
Customs TIB and FDA IFE experience
CBP ACE system experience
Proven ability to develop and maintain productive, trusting and respectful business relationships
Exceptional listening, analytical, organizational, leadership, diplomatic and problem-solving skills
Highly-motivated and proven ability to function in a complex, challenging and fast-paced team environment
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and adaptable, ability to manage ambiguity, change and uncertainly effectively
Well organized with good time management skills to execute tasks within deadlines and consistently track and report progress of on-going initiatives
Valuation and annual Customs Reconciliation experience
Superior MS Excel capabilities
Ability to sit at a desk/computer for extended periods of time
Ability to lift banker’s box and light filing, as necessary
