United States - Illinois City Chicago Job Type Full Time Your role Do you have a solid trading record in Long/Short US Equities? We are currently seeking to complement our Long / Short US Equities capabilities by hiring a talented and experienced trader into our O'Connor team in Chicago within UBS Asset Management. You will: - Execute trading orders in line with Portfolio Managers' decision within area of expertise (e.g. Fixed Income, Equitiesâ ) -Track and monitor positions in portfolios and interface with counter parties -Keep abreast with market developments and financial instruments and communicate proactively to the broader team/platform -Collaborate with trading team/counterparties to develop appropriate global guidelines to assure best execution and practices and maintain excellent relationships -Adhere to regulations and internal policies -Manage broad range of risks, e.g. trading risk, execution, operational etc. and prepare and support internal and external audit of trading results -interact with PM's and contribute to decision making on position entry and exit points, trade expression, and risk management Your team You will be part of the O'Connor business in Chicago, which is part of UBS Asset Management and is dedicated to absolute return investment management, managing USD 5.7 billion (as of 1 September 2015) in non-traditional strategies through its Global Long/Short Equities, Credit Long/Short, Merger Arbitrage and Convertible Securities programs. O'Connor has a global trading platform with offices located in Chicago, London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo; and its trading and risk management experience dates back to 1977 when O'Connor was a private partnership specializing in derivatives and market-making. O'Connor established itself as a global leader in trading various markets and derivatives instruments as both a private partnership and then within Swiss Bank Corp's and subsequently UBS AG's investment bank proprietary trading divisions. Over this time O'Connor has maintained its focus on relative value investing and focused risk management capabilities. Your experience and skills -Solid trading experience from a leading asset management or brokerage with a successful track record within a similar environment. -Background in US Equities, able to demonstrate excellent judgment and decision making skills. -Strong communication skills in both oral and written English with proven exposure to presenting deep and differentiated market color to senior management. Excellent risk management skills and high level of integrity, attention to detail, as well as, client orientated focus and drive. -Ability to work autonomously and proactively.
