Sapphire Technologies is looking for a Senior VP of IT in Orange County for a leading global investment solutions provider. Position Description: Sapphire Technologies is looking for a Sr. VP of IT in Orange County. This position oversees and provides technical leadership for financial services business applications. As part of the technology executive team, this role requires an experienced perspective based on business and organizational transformation, active collaboration, agility, technical excellence and the ability to successfully partner with and advise senior business and technology leaders. The ideal candidate must have strong financial services industry experience at a senior management level. Responsibilities: In close partnership with line-of-business technology executives, align business application investments with current and future line-of-business strategies. Identify emerging business models and functional requirements, and integrate into a relevant applications portfolio and investment plan. The Sr. VP of IT will be in charge of developing and managing teams of IT professionals on various projects. Collaborate with line-of-business technology executives to analyze existing and legacy applications portfolio. Manage shortmidlong-range portfolio investment plans that classify applications by business value and technical maturity (e.g., re-fresh, replacement or retirement). Design, implement and maintain an effective, efficient organizational structure to successfully support current and future business strategies. Lead change management and provide strong leadership to the applications teams by encouraging diversity of thought, focusing on employee development and performance, and ensuring teams continually acquire new technology skills. Oversee and negotiate vendor relationships. Re-position new application initiatives within a coherent technology reference architecture (e.g., application buy vs. build, middlewareintegration approach, database, etc.). Oversee the evaluation and remediation of existing applications efficacy (e.g., data integrity, system performance, virtualization, recoverability, clarify staff ownership and accountability) Work with Studios technology leaders and Enterprise I.T. to ascertain optimal application hosting and technical operations requirements of each business application. Define and negotiate SLAâ€™s with EIT-managed suppliers, as well as the Studios Media Systems Technology group, and oversee performance to SLA. Manage the business systems stands and governance, monitoring and compliance of security policies, backup and disaster recovery systems. Manage budgets and processes to reduce redundancies and control costs. Optimize costs of services through a mix of internal and external resources. Align IT risk management with company and enterprise risk management profiles. Requirements: 10 years experience in business operations, strategic planning, management of IT organization andor business applications and systems. 5 years of senior management at Director level or above Education minimums, advanced degree in IS, (MBA, MIS, PHD, CFA) Strong emotional intelligence, communication and interpersonal skills Experience in a fast paced, collaborative environment Fixed Income Securities Experience MBS experience, RMBS experience Experience working with Traders, Account Managers, Quantitative Analysts, MFE'S (Masters in Financial Engineering) Experience with Client Services Significant experience in restructuring and implementing new technologyprocess improvement. Strong leadership, management and experience in facilitating change management within a large team. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within challenging timeframes and ongoing change. Effective communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills. Extensive knowledge of contracting and negotiating for business applications. Experience with implementation of complex application implementations and integrations in a large company. Solid experience in budget preparation and monitoring.
