The Department
The Investment Operations Team is part of the wider Operations department including Fund Operations, Performance, Client Reporting and Operations Strategy. The Investment Operations team supports Investment Management across the full range of equity and fixed income product lines, providing middle office functions and interfacing between front office and the outsource providers.
Within the department, the Denver Operations Control team is responsible for oversight of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. end to end middle office solution, delivering risk management and control across all product lines, instruments, and markets. The team bridges the gap between the internal departments/clients and the middle office service provider by partnering with the service provider; this enables the business and wider operations to increase breadth, depth, and capabilities. The department strives to streamline, enhance, and optimize operational efficiency while reducing risk across business to safeguard the reputation of the firm and our client’s assets.
Overview of the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to support the global business and facilitate growth by ensuring a risk based oversight model. This analyst role in the Denver Operations Control team is focused on trade management. The role provides control and oversight as it relates to post trade activities including settlement, clearing, collateral management, and securities lending.
Duties and Responsibilities
Take ownership of the teams’ oversight responsibilities covering Trade Management (OTC, ETD, Securities, Money Market, FX and Secured Loans), Collateral and Margin Management (Bilateral and Cleared) and our outsourced Securities Lending program.
Provide oversight of service provider quality and performance by monitoring KPIs, metrics and regularly reviewing the SLA with adherence to contractual policies, procedures and controls
Evaluate New Markets, New Instruments, New Investments and any Non Standard, complex requests in line with Operations Governance procedure, liaise internally and partner with service provider to provide solutions and implement necessary operational enhancements.
Identify, establish, and implement best practices in regards to trade operations
Create, document, maintain, challenge and recommend improvements to process flows
Participate in business and technology enhancement initiatives
Ensure appropriate operational controls in order to manage and mitigate risk
Build and foster relationships with internal partners and external service provider
Work closely with other business areas to ensure involvement and understanding of new business and regulatory developments
Ensure accuracy and completeness of start of day IBOR

Technical Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of financial services, asset management, and investment operations Solid understanding of trade lifecycle across all major asset classes (fixed income, alternatives, equities, money markets) from order execution management, allocations, confirmation, pre-settlement and failed trade management
Experience with relationship management preferred
Analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills: Presentation skills, written communication and ability to summarize client meetings and/or other client interactions to various levels in the organization.
Strong project management skills: Ability to organize and track multiple threads of activity, ability to deliver on tight timelines, hands-on approach to resolving issues and detail orientation.
Highly organized, attention to detail and excellent follow through skills.
Ability to work independently, to gather information, makes decisions and drive results.
Proactive, self-starting individual with high levels of ownership.
Highly motivated with enthusiasm to learn the business and the clients we support.
Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to build the trust and confidence in capabilities, ability to work well with others internally to accomplish client objectives.
Ability to drive discussions with multiple groups across different business units including traders, operations, controllers and technology to create business requirements specifications.
Must be a team player, hardworking, resourceful and eager to learn.

Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 2 – 3 years of relevant experience in middle office operations
