Position Summary Facilities Management has an open opportunity for a candidate to join our Plumbing Team as an insulation team Trades Helper. This is a unique opportunity for applicants who are interested in learning the insulation trade. Selected candidates will rotate through several learning opportunities and experiences within the insulation team in order to gain experience in the trade and begin training for a career path. This position will provide an estimated three years of insulation training. Should the Trades Helper successfully complete the insulation training program, the employee will be eligible to apply for open insulator\/pipe coverer positions within FM. In the Trades Helper role, initial duties will include assisting with insulation team set-up, delivery of materials, and the clean-up of shop and work areas. Trades Helpers are required to drive University vehicles on a daily basis as one of their primary job functions. Duties & Responsibilities \u2022Assists insulation employees with daily activities on assigned jobs. \u2022Assists with collecting and delivering materials and\/or equipment needed on job sites. \u2022Cleans and\/or performs minor repairs on equipment. \u2022Performs clean-up activities as jobs are completed. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Minimum Qualifications \u2022One year of experience working in construction, maintenance or other trades setting; or related education and experience. \u2022Possession of a valid driver\u2019s license upon employment. \u2022At least two years of licensed driving experience. Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications Completion of one year of vocational training; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and\/or education. Preferred Qualifications \u2022Basic construction skills. \u2022Knowledgeable of the insulation trade. \u2022Knowledge of hand tools and safety practices. \u2022Skill in use of materials and equipment in the Plumbing trade. \u2022Ability to effectively communicate.
