Description:
PRIMARY CHARACTERISTICS
The position is responsible for leadership, strategy and management oversight of the accounting and forecast/planning cycles, audits and for the integrity and accuracy of financial books and records for an assigned business unit or area of specialization.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
Provides leadership and oversight for financial planning, month end close process, forecast/planning/analysis processes and submission of information for federal/state/regulatory requirements
Manage the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements
Advocates appropriate use of technology and systems to enable efficiency.
Establishes, enhances and maintains appropriate internal controls
Provides expertise and consulting in support of key corporate initiatives including acquisitions, new products, service and business model changes.
Identifies, develops and communicates analysis to business unit contacts in order to maximize savings and minimize risk exposure.
Coordinates resolution of issues related to assigned area
Manages a team including recruiting, training, motivating, directing and evaluating
Enforces policies, procedures, processes, and controls within assigned area
Ensures all needed assistance is provided for internal, external and regulatory auditors in completing audit reviews
Coordinate completion of ad hoc reporting as requested
Oversees project management for the group
Has advanced knowledge of GAAP
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
May require extensive knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures of the Business Unit being supported
Excellent spreadsheet and analytical skills
Excellent ability to effectively handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced, growth environment

Ability to communicate GAAP results to the business unit being supported for both revenue and expenses

Familiar with regulations governing accounting in a financial institution
Knowledge of internal control

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance or related business area
MBA / CPA highly preferred
Minimum 10 plus years of accounting/finance
5 years of managerial experience of people and/or projects
Banking and/or mortgage industry experience Oracle Financials experience preferred
Knowledge and experience of loans preferred
Knowledge with recording of revenue and expenses preferred
Current experience in public filing and reporting
