\r\rReports to: Global Trade Compliance Manager \rType: Full Time\r\rScope:\r\rThe Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for handling complex export\rand/or import situations with oversight and direction from the Global Trade Compliance\rManager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing guidance to export staff on due\rdiligence, analysis of red flags, and transaction screenings, assist with\rtraining, developing, drafting, and implementing compliance procedures, and management\rof trade compliance recordkeeping systems. \rThis role also requires compliance coordination with business partners,\rfreight forwarders, customs brokers, and various internal departments.\r\r\r\rResponsibilities:\r\r\r Maintain the highest ethical\r standards, even when challenged from above.\r Understand and live by\r Victaulic ethics and business code of conduct policies.\r Assist Trade Compliance Manager\r with analysis of export and import regulations, and tracking changes to\r the regulations.\r Produce and analyze reports\r from ERP/MRP and other information systems.\r Coordinate with global internal\r departments including; Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Care, Logistics, and\r Manufacturing.\r Work pro-actively with carriers\r to prevent trade disruptions.\r Work with product groups and\r suppliers to obtain information needed to confirm Harmonized Tariff System\r classifications and country of origin determinations.\r Prepare and review requirements\r for government programs; Customs Trade\r Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Importer Self-Assessment (ISF), and\r the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).\r Perform reviews and updates of product Export Control Classification\r Numbers.\r Prepare licenses, permits, and\r other necessary international documents.\r Coordinate program for calculations\r of preferential treatment under Free Trade Agreements.\r Prepare and verify export\r shipping documentation for ad-hoc and other manual shipments.\r Process and validate import\r shipping documentation.\r Coordinate shipments with\r freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and customers when needed.\r Work with Manufacturers to\r obtain proper information for reporting U.S. Customs assists.\r Monitor and update Trade Compliance\r Department recordkeeping.\r Support Global Trade Compliance\r Manager in administering export and import compliance programs.\r Assist with creation and\r execution of annual Certificates of Origin to Victaulic customers.\r Other responsibilities as\r assigned by the Global Trade & Compliance Manager.#CB#INDI
Qualifications &\rCompetencies:\r\r\r U.S.: Solid knowledge of US\r Customs, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and ECCN\r classification determination. Familiarity\r with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export\r Administration Regulations (EAR), along with knowledge of sanctions,\r embargos, and anti-boycott regulations set forth and administered by the\r Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the Foreign Trade Regulations\r (FTR).\r Non-U.S.: Familiarity with\r international trade organizations, country specific regulatory requirements,\r re-export, deemed exports, and transshipments. \r Ability to prepare and review\r international shipping documents such as commercial invoice, packing list,\r air waybill, and export license; including consignee information,\r INCOTERMS, harmonized tariff code and nomenclature, country of origin,\r customs value, export classification, and license data.\r Strong computer skills\r including ability to research orders and prepare reports in Manufacturing\r Resource Planning (MRP) information systems, perform spreadsheet\r calculations, and quickly learn new software tools.\r\r\r\r Strong verbal and written\r communication skills.\r Attention to detail.\r Ability to work calmly under\r pressure and with frequent interruptions.\r Ability to prepare business\r letters and complete forms.\r Strong data analysis and\r problem solving skills\r Ability for infrequent travel,\r domestic and international\r\r\rEducation/Previous\rExperience Requirements:\r\r\r A four-year degree from an accredited college or\r university is preferred (or equivalent experience).\r Knowledge of using Manufacturing Resource Planning\r (MRP) information systems to perform business transactions.\r Two/three years of experience with export and/or import\r regulatory compliance and with international business transactions and\r shipping documents, or related experience.\r Experience with trade compliance information systems.\r\r\r\r\r
