We are seeking an Associate Manager, Trade Marketing to join our Retail Brands team in Bloomington, MN. As an Associate Manager, you will be responsible for working with a subset of national customer teams to drive Trade and Customer Specific Sales initiatives. You will have great direction and support from our Sr Manager, Trade Marketing, to aid your success! You will have opportunity to work closely with marketing and field sales, providing sales with the selling tools, materials, point of sale and product knowledge sheets needed to be effective. This position is also responsible for improving spending efficiencies and assisting in developing trade spending strategies.
Responsibilities:
Tracks business, customer and competitive trends and develops business by building actionable insights and recommendations, primarily associated with trade.
Assists in the development of new trade strategies that will result in increased sales, profits and reduction of costs.
Assists in the development, compliance and settlement of operation group trade plans.
Assists, develops and implements trade spending element analysis and insights.
Work with sales leadership and marketing teams in the annual planning process to develop the annual trade marketing review for the customers.
Assists in the development of category or customer strategies as well as the selling/marketing/promotional plans for the customer. Ensure timely execution and management of strategy initiatives and the processes' key elements.
Provide sales and trade expertise in the development of customer or broker programs and supporting material. Ensure alignment across sales and marketing teams to ensure effective field sales execution.
Work closely with marketing team to develop annual volume and trade spending plans for the customer's categories and brands.
Track performance on a continuous basis to ensure that volume goals are achieved within trade spending parameters. Review markets with problems and/or areas for opportunity and develop action plans accordingly.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Years of Related Experience: 5-7 years related experience (preferably in CPG or retail trade industry with HQ sales planning or category management). Experience in a customer facing role (ex. Account Management or Category Management) is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical background with prior knowledge in trade optimization programs and trade expenditure policies;
Excellent communication and influencing skills;
Good leadership, organizational, project management and time management skills;
Intermediate PC skills including the Microsoft Office required;
Experience with syndicated data (IRI/Neilson) preferred;
Knowledgeable with industry best practices and programs
